For anyone who struggles with falling and staying asleep, Kokoon and TP Vision have partnered to create the new Philips Sleep Headphones, which feature a comfortable fit, and adaptive, personalised performance, complete with sleep monitoring.
They are only 6mm thick, and the included Philips electronics have been relocated from the earbud to a shallow enclosure on the neck, for comfort for both back and side sleepers.
A new silicone cable sleeve design will reduce the pressure on the outer earflap and in the ear-canal.
The headphones feature a noise masking feature and SnoreProtect technology which slowly brings in specially-tuned white noise to smooth peaks in external sound which can distract the sleeper from quality sleep.
An adaptive audio function monitors the user’s sleep pattern, and uses Biosensors to detect when they’ve fallen asleep, automatically fading out audio and replacing it with the user’s preferred coloured noise.
Sleeping patterns are continuously monitored via accelerometers, as well as a small optical heart rate monitor, which works by shining light into skin and measuring how it scatters from the blood flow.
Combined information can be used to help the owner understand and navigate their way to better sleep. Personalised sleep coaching and specialist relaxing audio content can be accessed by the user.
These headphones come with a 10 hour battery life, and can be used to make calls and stream music from Apple Music, Audible, Spotify, YouTube, the Calm app, the Headspace app, or the Kokoon app.
The Philips Sleep Headphones are retailing for U$285 from the official Kokoon website. Australian pricing and availability is currently unknown.
