HTC, who is set to have a bun fight with Samsung and LG for supremacy in the Android phone market, has launched the HTC Desire Z, which is a QWERTY keyboard model.
The new phone has a 5MP camera, runs on Android 2.2 and includes auto focus capability. It also has a 3.7-inch QVGA screen, 4GB of internal storage and a new 800MHz Qualcomm processor under the bonnet.
Housing a smaller battery the new Desire Z has 4GB of internal storage as well as a MicroSD slot.

It will compete with new models from both Samsung and LG and new QWERTY keyboard Android models from Acer.
The hinge on the QWERTY keyboard has been specifically designed to allow users to hit the top row of keys, as well as programmable keys for functions like texting, calling or launching an application whenever you want.
It’s a thin all-metal device, that’s packed into a119mm x 60.4mm x 14.16mm casing that weighs 180g with battery.
It’s also packing the new HTC Sense UI and HTC Smart Boot, which helps power up your phone quicker and adds in new features and functionality to the user experience.
No pricing or release date has been announced for Australia.
