It’s offical..well almost, the new Samsung Galaxy S7 is set to dunny drop proof.
New information reveals that the new Samsung Galaxy S7 due next month or early April is set to come with a waterproof design which means that if you do accidentially drop it in the toilet it will carry on working.
Rumours have suggested that will be the case for a while, but a new leak almost assures it.
Listings have been posted online by Zauba that reveals waterproof components destined for the Galaxy S7.
Zauba is an import-export tracking website that’s known in the tech industry for revealing details about upcoming devices.
The listings specifically mention “waterproof” components – like a SIM tray and microphone – for handsets with the model numbers SM-G930 and SM-G935.
Samsung’s naming conventions mean it’s almost certain those model numbers are assigned to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
Unfortunately, Samsung is keeping tight-lipped on the matter for now, so we’ve got no way of telling whether the devices will actually be waterproof until launch.
It’s worth noting however, that the Galaxy S5 was waterproof; the feature was only scrapped with last year’s Samsung flagships.
Samsung is expected to unveil the two handsets at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February.
