Sony has introduced a new pico projector in the form of its MP-CL1A Mobile Projector, which is set to launch in Australia in November.Portable and lightweight, the MP-CL1A uses laser beam scanning, providing HD resolution (1920 x 720) and focus-free projection.
“It delivers high-quality and high-contrast (80,000:1) imagery that enables rich and accurate colours, along with a 16:9 aspect ratio for an improved HD viewing experience,” Sony states.
It is capable of displaying screen sizes of up to 120″ at a distance of 3.45 metres, or a 40″ screen size from 1.15 metres, with Sony stating that it “is best suited to be used in dark environments both indoors and outdoors – including camping, movie nights, gaming and home-viewing”, with it also suited for business presentations.
The MP-CL1A is equipped with Bluetooth audio connectivity, can connect to sources such as laptops, Blu-ray
players and game consoles via HDMI, and can also connect to smartphones and tablets via MHL, while its built-in Wi-Fi function allows for screen mirroring from a smartphone or tablet.
It features a kickstand that doubles as a lens cover, and comes with a carrying pouch and a USB cable, and is equipped with a built-in 3,400 mAh battery, which can also be used to charge a mobile phone.
Available in grey and gold, the MP-CL1A will be priced at $749 SRP.
