Designed to be amateur-friendly, the series offers a three button burn to DVD option, as well as an electronic image stabiliser to correct hand shakes and a gravity sensor to protect recordings if you drop the camcorder.
The R series also features a 2.5 inch LCD screen, two megapixel colour CCD sensor, 10x optical zoom as well as editing and burning software.
And if you want to watch your home movies at leisure – transfer them over the new Gigabeat V portable media player, Toshiba says. It features a 3.5 inch screen to view movies on, an external speaker for audio (so you don’t need to use headphones) and is available in a 30GB model.
Toshiba says the player has a battery life of 30 hours for audio and up to 8 hours of video and is compatible with the common formats including wma, wmv, wav, JPEG and MP3. It comes with A/V cables and output for connection to most TVs.
For a limited time Toshiba will offer a $200 cash on the video cameras to Aussie and Kiwi customers.
