A new web site that offers big discounts for volume deals has been launched in Australia with the promoters of the site OfferMe claiming that groups of consumers who want the same product can now bid as a group.
The new group buy service, will launch today on Australian e-commerce website OfferMe.com.au. The primary obective of the new service is to offer a discount price based on the volume that has been generated by consumers who have registered an interest in buying a particular consumer electronics product or appliance.
Once the volume required by the seller is met, the seller will honour the volume discount price and ship out the goods. If the volume required cannot be met within a set period of time, then the deal will expire, and there will be no charge to either buyers or seller.
With the appeal of volume discount price tags, OfferMe General Manager James Wang believes that with buyers now more keen than ever to grab a bargain, the new service on OfferMe will be a hit.
“The volume discount concept is old school. Before, it was near impossible for one person to get a good volume discount – you don’t just go out and buy 10 LCD TVs. Now that the internet provides new ways to do business, we can easily have ten people buying ten units from one seller in one go on our website, even if all the buyers are from different areas.”, he said.
The website’s focus on buying power unification will put a new spin on the volume discount concept. As users have already registered their interest on the products they want to purchase on the website, it’s a lot easier for the website to go out and negotiate fantastic volume discount deals for them.
