Canon has launched three new slim compact digital cameras to its Ixus range. These new cameras have wide angle lens, large optical zoom, as well as a TruCapture technology that optimises settings to suit shooting conditions.
According to Canon, the new IXUS 210 IS, IXUS 130 IS and IXUS 105 IS feature its TruCapture technology, making it easy for users to get the shot they want. This is achieved by combining three Canon technologies: Optical Image Stabilizer for clear, sharp shots; a DiG!C Colour Processor for true-to-life colours; and Intelligent Auto that makes taking photos easy.
The Intelligent Auto recognises up to 22 different scenes (18 for the 105 IS) and carries out the optimum image processing for that scene.
These models are the first in the Ixus range to feature Canon’s new Intelligent Flash Exposure technology which automatically detects whether flash is required and adjusts the flash output, shutter speed, aperture and ISO speed to best suit the photo being taken. The new cameras also feature a Low Light scene mode that automatically controls the ISO sensitivity (from ISO400 to ISO6400).
Canon Australia’s Brand Manager – DSC, Danielle Hinton said, “The new additions to the IXUS range signify the culmination of an impressive ten years of sophisticated style and design. Not only do the three cameras boast stunning designs but they are also feature-packed to help users get the perfect shot every time.”
The Canon IXUS 130 IS is 17.8mm thick, comes with a 28mm wide angle lens and 4x Optical Zoom. It also comes with the ability to record movies in HD and has two new creative scene modes (miniature effect and fish-eye effect) to help you create creative shots.
The IXUS 210 IS has a 3.5-inch interactive touch LCD screen, Touch Auto Focus functions, High Definition (1280 x 720) video shooting, 5x optical zoom, and a 24mm wide angle lens.
It also comes with Smart Shutter and the new creative modes of ‘miniature’ and ‘fish-eye’.
Finally, Canon has launched the IXUS 105 IS, an entry level camera that comes with a 28mm wide-angle lens, 4x optical zoom, 2.7-inch LCD screen, Intelligent Auto and Intelligent Flash Exposure, as well as a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor.
