New Yamaha Receivers Talks To iPads And Web Browsers

Yamaha has announced a new line of AV receivers,which the company claims has been built from the ground up to handle a new generation of digital input, wireless and video they can also be integrated into an iPad or a home web browser.

Called the Aventage series the new receivers come in several versions, however it is not known which models will bought into Australia.
The Company claims that  the new series have been re-engineered “to make subtle changes that mean the difference between good and great sound,” the company said.
Set to be introduced in September the Aventage series are said to offer peak performance through subtle design changes that were continually evaluated and tested before being implemented in the final product line.
The new models include new networking control functions for integration with a range of third-party home automation control systems, while permitting network control via a PC Web browser or by a free iPhone/iPad app on select units.

Receivers are compatible with Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) 1.5 specs to stream Internet Radio (MP3/WMA), digital music services as well as playing back music files (WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC 96/24) from a PC or DLNA server.
Other features include 7.2 channel surround with full HD Audio decoding (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio); Four Scene buttons; iPod compatibility (with optional YDS-12 or YID-W10 wireless yAired dock); Bluetooth compatibility; compressed music enhancer; low jitter PLL circuitry; HDMI v.1.4a 3D pass-through with Audio Return Channel (ARC); YPAO room optimizer; and analog-to-HDMI 1080p video upscaling with deinterlacing.
Also featured are Deep Color (30/36 bit) and x.v.Color video support, 24Hz refresh rates, audio input assign capability for HDMI and component video inputs and auto lip-sync compensation, which is said to automatically eliminate audio/video sync issues.

 
Yamaha also adds its proprietary Cinema DSP 3D audio processing in all models to complement 3D television technology and provides extra height dimension to allow more engaging 3D video via 3D Virtual Presence technology that eliminates the need for extra front presence speakers.
The top two units in the series were called “the industry’s first A/V receivers to incorporate the HQV Vida video processing chipset.”

The top four units also feature dual HDMI or “Zone B” output capability for dual HDTV signal viewing in the main room or a secondary room.
Examples of these changes include: a fifth foot to improve structural rigidity and reduce vibrations and double-bottom construction on select models to improve peak performance at multiple volumes.
Also said to be major element in the refining process was the selection of components, wires, fuses and electrical paths. 
In the USA the new receivers will cost between $649 and $1899. But expect to pay double that in Australia.
