New South Wales Police have issued a warning for consumers to be wary of very convincing fake Netflix emails, intended to capture and receive an individual’s credit card details.
An example of the email was posted to social media, where users are directed to a webpage to update their payment details.

Mailguard has revealed that the fake site directs users to the real Netflix webpage after entering their details.
The Melbourne-based web security firm claims that Netflix has “become a favourite vehicle for email fraudsters”.
“Their large customer base makes them a valuable target for brandjacking – cybercrime that exploits the trademarks of well-known companies to deceive victims”.
