Razer has added three new gaming headsets to its Thresher range.
Following up on the Thresher Ultimate announced at E3, the new headsets include wireless models for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as a wired model designed for multi-platform compatibility.
The Razer Thresher 7.1 for PlayStation 4 features 7.1 Dolby surround sound, and connects with the console using a ‘discrete’ 2.4Ghz wireless USB dongle.
Meanwhile, the Razer Thresher for Xbox One will be the first headset to use ‘Xbox Wireless’ to connect with the console. This is the same technology used to connect controllers to the Xbox One, and means an additional dongle is not required for wireless connectivity.
Finally, the new Thresher Tournament Edition is compatible with all major consoles as well as PC using a 3.5mm audio cable.
Razer said the headset is “specifically designed for the most optimal gaming experience”, and includes “an unidirectional microphone, lightweight ear cushions and zero-lag audio performance”.
All of the new headsets will be available worldwide in Q4. The Thresher 7.1 and the Thresher for Xbox One are both priced at $229.95, while the Thresher Tournament Edition will retail for $149.95.
