Samsung have announced a wider rollout of the beta for its Samsung Internet Web Browser to non-Samsung Android devices.

Writing on Medium, Developer Advocate Peter O’Shaughnessy says that “earlier this year, Samsung Internet v5 heralded our first open beta and the first time our browser could be installed on non-Samsung phones — specifically Google Nexus and Pixel devices. Today we’re excited to share that our v6 beta is being released for all Android 5.0+ (Lollipop+) phones!”

He says “the beta is being rolled out gradually and will become available worldwide over the next few days via the Play Store and the Galaxy Apps Store. It will receive multiple updates before the v6.2 stable release.”

In terms of features, O’Shaughnessy highlights the ability to synchronise your bookmarks between your desktop Chrome-browser and your mobile. These bookmarks can also be backed up on Samsung Cloud. There’s also a unique High Contrast mode and built-in support for content blockers.

The web browser also supports WebVR, which Firefox announced support for earlier this week.
