Demand for the new 36 million pixel Nikon D8000 is so big that Nikon is now tipping shortages. It is not known how the Australian market will be affected.Overnight Nikon said via an official statement that there will not be enough Nikon D800 cameras  to satisfy the pre-orders that have already been made. The camera was due to go on sale in Australia this month.

The statement, which appears on the Nikon Japan website, says that the pre-orders have been “above expectation” and apologies to any customer that will have to wait to get their hands on the highly anticipated camera.
