The series will begin with an Introduction to DSLR class on 26 June 2010, designed to familiarise students with the key features and functions of a Nikon DSLR. Melbourne’s Marriot Hotel, the Quay West Suites in Brisbane and the Sydney Harbour Marriot Hotel will host the Nikon School sessions.
Nikon Australia’s Senior Marketing Manager, Nick Segger said, “Each class will feature dedicated ‘hands on’ workshops, making the most of each location’s close proximity to popular landmarks, botanical gardens and city vistas. Photographers will have plenty of opportunity to practice new techniques under expert guidance.”
Nikon says that this ‘Introduction to DSLR’ class is ideal for newcomers to the world of digital SLR photography or anyone looking to refresh their DSLR knowledge.
Students will learn to overcome many of the challenges faced by photographers, developing a deeper understanding of photography basics, terminology and techniques. The course will cover everything from basic layout of the camera through to in-camera post production methods.
“The Introduction to DSLR class will encourage students to use their DSLR to its full potential and expand their visual creativity. Our skilled instructors will guide DSLR users as they experiment with the camera’s full range of functions and gain confidence in their photography,” added Segger.
All Nikon School classes are scheduled from 10am – 4pm on Saturdays. To ensure personalised instruction and maximize student participation, enrolment will be limited to a maximum of 15 students per class.
The class fee of $249 will cover the four-part lecture program and hands-on training for the full day, and students will require a digital SLR camera and basic lens to participate.
