Nikon Australia has announced the pricing for its D3100 entry-level DSLR which is launched today.

The D3100 is equipped with Nikon’s new 14.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor, refined image processing system and D-Movie function. It weighs 450g (body), offers 1080p video shooting, has a comprehensive guide mode aimed at beginners and built-in scene auto selection.
Those who already have compatible lenses can purchase the D3100 body for $949. The D3100 can also be purchased with a 18-55mm, 18-55/55-200mm or 18-55/55-300mm lenses for $1049, $1299 and $1449, respectively.
And as Nikon signs on as the official camera, camera lens, binocular and range finder partner for Surf Life Saving Australia, the company will donate $30 from the sale of every D3100 during the busy pre-Christmas period, contributing vital funds and support this summer to this essential not-for-profit service.
