The mirrorless camera race for the enthusiast digicam with a difference has been heated this year, with everyone from Panasonic to Olympus throwing their efforts into the race, but the latest addition, the Nikon 1, took the spotlight in SmartHouse’s 2012 Smart Awards.
The V1 model of the Nikon 1 mirrorless system camera took the crown at the SmartHouse 2012 Smart Awards for its all-round great performance, image quality and design, with Nikon’s nod to simplicty with premium results garnering beautiful results. The interchangeable lens camera has fleshed out superfluous buttons and extremities while keeping the sure-shot essentials like the in-built viewfinder and high-res screen to create a camera that entices users to take great photos.
Just as the D5100 has been bringing shy shooters into the in-depth world of DSLRs, so too does the V1 invite a new class of keen amateur and enthusiast into a recent breed of cameras. On that note – the D5100 also picked up an award in the 2012 Smart Awards.
