The Niles Auriel MRC-6430 whole-home audio controller, delivering six distinct music sources to the user’s fingertips and playing different music in up to six rooms, has landed in the Australian market.Powered by Niles’ Auriel software and app, Core Brands’ Niles MRC-6430 has been designed to integrate multi-room audio and home theatre control “in a way that is both simple for the installer to set up and easy for the home owner to enjoy”.
“With Auriel and the MRC-6430 we are making multi-room audio simpler than ever to install and use,” Yann Connan, Core Brands director, audio segment, stated, noting the number one concern of buyers is that “multi-room audio controllers are complicated”.
“With any smartphone, tablet or Niles in-wall touch-panel users can now quickly select what source they want to play and in which rooms they want it to play,” Connan commented.
“We had the system integrators in mind as well, with the flexibility to include both IP and IR-controlled devices, complete GUI generation, and six routable IR outputs for external component control. Auriel is wizard-based to reduce installation and set-up time to a fraction of other multi-room systems.”
The MRC-6430’s user interface options include a handheld remote, a seven-button keypad, and a choice of touch-panel devices, along with smartphones, tablets and personal computers, including iPhone, iPad, Android smartphones and tablets, plus Windows and Mac-based computers.
Driven by Auriel and using TCP/IP, the MRC-6430 operates with virtually zero latency and, being based on Core Brands’ ELAN control platform, is ready for future expansion into lighting control, remote management and HVAC control, with Auriel leveraging the ELAN g! interface.
Through the Auriel wizard and a tablet or PC, the installer provides for configuration of the system for sources, zone preferences, user interface customisation and home theater control, while for larger homes, two MRC-6430s can be paired to create a six-source, 12-zone system.
An optional Niles DBI-2 interface allows home owners to route their doorbell through the system, temporarily muting music so that the doorbell can be clearly heard in every room.
Melbourne-based AV distributor QualiFi advises the MRC-6430 carries a price tag of $2,949 RRP.
