Nintendo is sparing no franchise as it unloads its heavyweight titles on the 3DS to gain the Christmas holiday momentum, with Pokemon being the latest franchise tipped for a 3DS debut in 3D.
Pokemon is now making its debut in 3D with the latest spin-off title Super Pokemon Rumble hitting Australian stores on December 8 for the Nintendo 3DS.
An eyebrow could have been raised when the latest hot-sellers in the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Black and White, were introduced without 3D view just before the 3DS handheld hit the market to underwhelming sales.
The new title puts players in control of over 600 ‘toy Pokemon’ in a team-oriented battle and mini-game style unlike typical Pokemon games. These include the latest Pokemon from the Black and White titles.
This new addition to the holiday season line-up of 3DS titles is part of Nintendo’s heavy leaning on flagship titles to push 3DS sales which have been suffering since release. These new titles include the 3D re-imagining of the classic Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time game and the upcoming Mario Kart 7.
