Nintendo is repackaging its old, flagship games Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort onto a single disk while introducing a range of new games price-cut under $70 in the lead-up to Christmas.
While PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 have a range of heavyweight titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 to pull in blockbuster holiday-season sales, Nintendo is pushing its less-impressive line-up by spruiking its minimalist price tag, with the bill tipped at budget, family gamers.
The popular Wii Sports titles will be packaged together on a single disk starting December 1 for a limited time, while new titles like Kirby’s Adventure Wii will hit stores on the same day.
Other titles currently out and coming soon in the under-$70 price range include Just Dance 3 and the upcoming Zumba Fitness 2 on November 24. Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games breaks the price margin at $79.95, coming November 17.
Price drops are becoming ever more common with Nintendo, after earlier dropping the price of its 3DS handheld to $249.99 following slow global sales of its latest device. All-round, Nintendo has been significantly down in the last half a year worldwide, making nearly half the revenue it did in the term before.
