Will Australia get the 8 Core Galaxy S4? Or will it be stuck with another Quadcore.

“What processor will be in the Galaxy S4?” was the thing we wanted to know most about the Galaxy S4. In a market populated by powerful quad-core smartphones, speculation suggested the Galaxy S4 would use Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa; an economical arrangement of 8 processing cores. This was meant to be its defining factor-the one reason why the S4 was the best smartphone when it boiled down to it. But during the extravagant New York launch, Samsung said absolutely nothing on the processor. Nada.

As it turned out, two versions of the Galaxy S4 would be sold. The i9500, which is powered by the 1.6GHz Exynos 5 Octa, and the i9505, which features the quad-core Snapdragon 600 chipset clocked at 1.9GHz.

Samsung Australia has remained tight lipped on which Galaxy will be coming to Australia. However, SamMobile, who has a proven record when it comes to leaking accurate Samsung information, has compiled a list documenting which Galaxy S4 will be assigned to which regions. According to their sources, Australia will be getting the quad-core i9505.

It’s really not a big deal, especially considering the Snapdragon 600 chipset is a phenomenal arrangement, and at 1.9GHz it’s the most powerful smartphone iteration to date. It’s kind of like picking between ice cream and cake: they’re both great, but you did have a mudcake craving.
