After dumping Hausmann Communications as their PR agency in Australia, Nokia who have been struggling of late in the phone market, is now set to dump their CEO.
Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo the current CEO has struggled to get traction up against brands like Apple, HTC, and Research in Motion with their Blackberry and Motorola, all companies who have successfully developed Smartphones that are now shredding Nokia phone sales around the world.
Now the Nokia board is looking for a replacement with the new candidate tipped to be non European. The big problem for many candidates is that Nokia is located in Finland and several candidates approached by head hunters have refused to submit their credentials.
Still successful at the bottom end of the market Nokia is also being hurt by Samsung and LG. However marketshare is sliding and communication carriers are moving to new brands as consumer loyalty shifts away from Nokia.
Since April the Finish company’s stock price has fallen by 42 per cent.
The Wall Street Journal reported: “They are serious about making a change,” one person familiar with the matter said. Nokia board members are “supposed to make a decision by the end of the month,” that person said.
Fuel Communications is the new PR company for Nokia.
