This April – Nokia promises Australian consumers with a “feature-rich Lumia experience, at an affordable price.”
Arriving during April, the Nokia Lumia 520 will be available from retailers including Allphones, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi, sporting an unlocked RRP of $229. From April 30 the Lumia 520 will become available on Telstra prepaid from Telstra stores and retailers, network locked, at $179.
Pitched at consumers’ playful side, but not compromising on features and functionality, it follows the same design as others in the Lumia family with a super sensitive touchscreen and changeable shells.
The 520 has features typical of high-end smartphones including the high quality digital camera lenses used in the Nokia 920, what we’re told are “exceptional mapping capabilities” and access to Nokia Music+ – the company’s latest monthly subscription music service.
Nokia’s managing director, Steve Lewis, said, “This launch marks another important step for Nokia in delivering Lumia smartphones at every price point to appeal to the widest audience possible.
“The Lumia 520 is the most affordable Windows Phone 8 device ever launched in Australia. It will appeal to consumers who are looking to upgrade to a smartphone and want all the benefits without the high price tag, as well as organisations wanting to equip their fleet with the best business phone.”
Andrew Volard, Telstra Director Mobile said Telstra is thrilled to offer its customers the Nokia Lumia 520.
“The Nokia Lumia 920 has been a really popular device for us and it’s great to see Nokia introducing a Windows Phone 8 handset into Telstra’s pre-paid range. We’re excited to launch the Nokia Lumia 520 as an affordable Windows Phone 8 option for our customers.”
