While the first fully-fledged Nokia smartphones from HMD aren’t expected to hit the market until next year, the Finnish start-up has revealed a pair of feature phones bearing the Nokia branding just in time for Christmas.The Nokia 150 will arrive alongside a Dual SIM variant, and feature a
2.4″ screen with an old-school mobile phone keypad. Both pack a
built-in MP3 player and FM radio backed up by talk time of 22 hours and
standby times of over 24 days. In classic Nokia style, they even come
preloaded with Snake. Less impressively, it’s only packing a VGA camera,
so it’s not likely to replace your iPhone any time soon when it comes
to selfies.
According to HMD, the phones “combine beautiful craftsmanship with
hallmark Nokia durability. Featuring hard-wearing polycarbonate shells
and scratch-resistant color, the Nokia 150 phones are built to last.”
The phones are set to retail in two colors (black and white) for an
expected price of close to $26 USD and will roll out to local markets in
the first quarter of the new year.
HMD was established in May, and is primarily composed of former Nokia
employees. The company is expected to unveil its next-generation Nokia
smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in early 2017.
