HMD Global has shown off and shared the first details of their first Nokia-branded smartphone, the Nokia 6.

Running on Android 6.0 Nougat and featuring a 5.5-inch HD screen and 16 megapixel rear-shooter, it looks to be no slouch. In fact, the 4GBs of RAM and Snapdragon 430 processor that the Nokia 6 will ship with suggest that it’s going hard on the value-for-money front.

However, for now at least, it’s a proposition that’ll be exclusive to China.

The company says “the decision by HMD to launch its first Android smartphone into China is a reflection of the desire to meet the real world needs of consumers in different markets around the world. With over 552 million smartphone users in China in 2016, a figure that is predicted to grow to more than 593 million users by 2017, it is a strategically important market where premium design and quality is highly valued by consumers.”

HMD Global will be rolling out the Nokia 6 later this year in China.

An Australian launch has not been ruled out.
