Nvidia has released a new graphics card and 3D wireless glasses to its gaming range.The Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti graphics processor runs off Nvidia’s latest generation ‘Fermi’ architecture and is targeted at the latest iteration of Microsoft’s DirectX technology.
Nvidia claims that the GTX 550 Ti delivers up to 50 percent faster processing on DirectX 11 games and 38 percent faster performance on previous generations of DirectX compared to ATI’s Radeon HD 5770.
Some of the upcoming gaming heavyweights on PCs, like Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3, are also set to include DirectX 11 support.
The GPU also offers multi-GPU support to increase gaming performance by running two GTX 550 Ti processors side-by-side.
The GTX 550 Ti has an estimate online retail price of US$149 through Nvidia trading partners and e-tailers.
Nvidia has also dropped the prices of its 3D glasses to US$119 and has released a 3D Vision kit that includes 3D active shutter wireless glasses, USB infra-red emitter and cables for US$149 from its online store.
