TCL has shown off its 2021 tablet range at CES, including the first tablet to use its new NXTPAPER display technology.
The new eight-inch TCL NXTPAPER tablet uses a reflective IPS screen to reflect natural light, which the manufacturer says results in vivid full-colour reproduction with no blue light or flicker, at 25 per cent higher contrast than most e-ink tablets and 65 per cent higher power efficiency for its 5500mAh battery than most LCD tablets.
Announced at IFA last year, NXTPAPER provides full HD resolution with less eyestrain than regular tablets, said Stefan Streit, General Manager of Global Marketing for TCL Communication.
“NXTPAPER is a prime example of the Display Greatness philosophy that TCL Mobile has embodied since it launched over a year ago, and showcases how a vertically integrated ecosystem can help produce innovative new products quickly and affordably.
“This new type of display will directly benefit remote workers and students alike, bringing new features that help encourage productivity, make life easier, and keep our eyes safe,” he said.
Also revealed was the TCL Tab 10s. Aimed at students and their parents, the 10s features a 10.1-inch screen, octa-core processor, and 8000mAh battery, as well as optional 4G LTE compatibility and a stylus. It includes a dual microphone and speaker system, plus front-facing camera, to facilitate remote learning and videoconferencing.
NXTPAPER is expected to arrive in Australia in Q2 of this year, and retails for 349 Euros (approximately $550 AUD); pricing and details on the 10s have yet to be revealed.
