Yahoo has teamed up with security software company, Symantec Corporation to provide Norton Internet Security software to its customers.
The software is an all-in-one suite which includes Norton Antivirus and Norton Personal Firewall which claim to detect and block spyware, viruses, unwanted adware, intruders and identity thieves as well as filter spam, and scan email and instant message attachments to remove any viruses, Trojans or worms.
“Internet security is important to our Yahoo users and by working with Symantec we are bringing the comfortable security blanket that their Norton brand services provide to consumers around the world,” Yahoo’s Stephen Miller.
A free 30 day trial of the co-branded security suite is available for download at http://downloads.yahoo.com/security.
Other co-branded products soon to be released include Norton Spyware Scan for Yahoo! Toolbar, Symantec Yahoo! Toolbar, Yahoo! Online Protection and Norton AntiVirus Scan for Yahoo! Mail and HotJobs.
