Optus has unveiled two new payment accessories in the form of a band and a sticker, employing NFC and Visa payWave technology, adding to its Cash by Optus mobile payment facility.Cash by Optus allows customers to make contactless purchases under $100, with Optus’ payment accessories compatible with iOS 8 and above and most handsets running Android 4.0 and above.
The sticker attaches to the back of the user’s smartphone, linking with the Cash by Optus app, letting the user make payments via their device.
Meanwhile, the new band, compatible with a range of smartphones supporting Cash by Optus, allows users to make payments without their phone on hand, linking directly to the Cash by Optus app.
Optus also offers a SIM card for NFC-ready Android smartphones as part of its Cash by Optus facility.
“Optus is excited to expand Cash by Optus with the introduction of the new payment stickers and bands,” Ben White, Optus acting managing director of product and marketing, commented.
“It has always been our aim to bring the ease and convenience of Cash by Optus to as many customers as possible across a range of smartphones and these new payment accessories enable us to do just that.”
