Optus customers will be able to stash their data, with the telco today announcing data rollover for three monthly prepaid plans. The My Prepaid Monthly Plus plans will allow customers to save up to a maximum of 10 GB via recharge before credit expiry, rolling the data over from one recharge to the next.
The plans, which also include unlimited standard national calls and texts, comprise a $30 recharge with 1.5 GB, a $45 recharge with 3.5 GB and a $60 recharge with 6 GB.
In launching the plans, Optus joins Virgin Mobile in providing customers a data rollover option, with Virgin introducing the feature earlier in the year.
Tim Cowan, Optus director of mobile marketing, noted that prepaid customers’ data usage varies from month to month, with 82 per cent of customers telling Optus they don’t use all their data every month.
“Customers hate losing their data and that’s why Optus is launching data rollover, so customers can have what they paid for and use that data whenever they want,” Cowan commented.
The plans are available on Optus’ 4G Plus network from July 5.
