The last of the iPad 2 deals: Optus has just announced its iPad 2 plans, available from today.
Apple’s 9.7″ LED-backlit LCD ‘thinner, faster” iPad 2 Wi-Fi and 3G models will be sold on plan and outright starting at $745 for the 16GB model.
Optus plans start at $49 a month for 16GB (Wi-Fi and 3G) black/white over 2 years and come with a generous 4GB included data, $59 for 32GB model and 8GB data, while 64GB is $69 also with 8GB.
The outright price of $745 is available on $40 Optus recharge and gives “up to” 5GB of data which is valid for a decent 60 day period.
Telstra are selling iPad 2 for less than this at $720 outright and plans start at $49 – cheaper than Optus basic deal but with far less data, offering just 1.5GB, while Vodafone plans are far more flexible offering zero upfront at $45 and 1.5GB over 2 years and month to month deals.
Optus business plans start at $49 iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G for 4GB data, and go up to $69.95 for a massive 10GB.
iPad 2 features powerful new dual-core A5 processor includes two cameras rear and front as well as access to a slew of apps.
Gavin Williams, Consumer Marketing Director, Optus said, “By offering the iPad 2 on the Optus Open Network, we are giving Australians more reason than ever before to choose Optus this Christmas”
“Our great range of value plans, along with greater rewards such as our partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer, give customers the freedom to enjoy all the game changing features the revolutionary iPad 2 has to offer.’
