Its Mardis Gras weekend but that not all that will be loud – if Boston Acoustics have anything to do with it. The ‘A Series’ Loudspeaker range, made by Boston Acoustics, hit the Oz market this week.

Celebrating 30 years since its first ever speaker model – the A40 bookshelf speaker – was launched, Boston Acoustics has reintroduced the legendary series.
The new A Series includes two floor standing speakers, the flagship 3-way A360, with dual 6.5 “woofers and a 3.5 inch midrange, the 2-way Model A250 with dual 5.25 inch woofers; two 2-way bookshelf models, A26, and the A225C 2-way centre channel speaker with dual 5.25” woofers.
Also included in the line is a compact 2-way satellite A23, which is the cheapest in the series retailing at $299 a pair, can be used as a surround or a bookshelf speaker.
The A Series 3- and 2-way models all feature Boston’s Kortec soft dome tweeter for superior high frequency sound.
Housed in high-gloss scratch-resistant cabinets with textured tops and magnetic grilles, the A Series was designed to offer Boston’s legendary sound, with modern styling.
Its makers also include some smart features like the vertical and horizontal internal bracings reduces cabinet resonances for enhanced audio quality, and newly developed ceramic and glass fibre polymer woofer cones allow for higher speed, reduced distortion, and improved sensitivity.
The A Series models also incorporate low-loss film capacitors and low-distortion laminated silicon steel cores for the inductors and are “ideal for either multi-channel home theatre or stereo-only music systems,” say its makers.
