The directors of the new company claim that the merger represents a radical advancement in Australian audio that will see Colin Whatmough’s loudspeaker expertise fused with Whise’s world-leading subwoofer technologies. Colin Whatmough says the joint venture, will represent better sound and better value for consumers. He added “We have an enviable reputation for the sound reproduction from our loudspeakers, and Whise for its subwoofers. Although Whatmough has won many awards for its own subwoofers, Whise is renowned for producing the best subwoofers in the world,”
Whise’s success with subwoofers can be attributed to a process known as Parametric Acoustic modelling, which dramatically reduces distortion. Whise also brings the technical expertise of Neville Thiele filters, and other advanced technologies, to the venture.Talks of a merger began shortly after Whise designed the electronic crossover using Neville Thiele’s filter technology for use with Whatmough’s flagship speakers, the Paragon. “The merger will allow both companies to develop new technologies and manufacturing methods to produce exceptional products that are even more competitive,” says Colin.Over the next few months, Whatmough-Whise will begin producing a new line of subwoofers that will bring together Colin Whatmough’s design flair with Whise’s unique patented technologies.
