Australian retailers are moving to shift inventories of the first-generation Microsoft tablets with JB Hi Fi and Harvey Norman both offering big discounts on the Window 8 based tablet.
Following the release of new Surface 2 series tablets overseas retailers in Australia have been reluctant to order more stock untill they have cleared inventories of the first-generation.
Microsoft has already started discussing with its retail partners in Australia about the distribution of the new Surface 2 tablets and the devices may hit store shelves early in the fourth quarter.
