“Its slim and compact vertical design features a sliding door which opens to reveal both a CD player and an iPod docking station. Derived from the long audio tradition of Panasonic’s one-time sister brand, Technics, this micro audio system enhances any table or bookshelf like a piece of audio jewellery,” says the jury.
Panasonic Australia’s Product Manager, Hi Fi and Audio, Ian North said, “This product is the ideal system for smaller spaces, offering versatility and sound quality by allowing the user to put their iPod in the docking station, insert a CD, or even listen to their favourite radio stations.”
The SC-HC3’s slim measurements (102.5 x 195 x 500 mm) mean it is perfect for a desktop, bedside table or bookshelf. It features Panasonic’s full-range Bamboo Cone Speakers – a rigid, low density bamboo material used in the speaker helps achieve a clean responsive sound, with crisp, clear vocals.
A Dual Passive Radiator design cancels unwanted vibration, helping deliver a pure bass sound with minimal noise. The diaphragm of the passive radiator is weighted to achieve linear vibration, making it possible for the slim, thin speaker units to produce a robust, full-bodied bass.
The SC-HC3’s remote control can be used to select music stored in the iPod. Music on the iPod can also be used for a wake-up timer. The silver and black system has a motorised door and is also conveniently equipped with a clock and an AM/FM tuner.
