The new Panasonic Lumix point-and-shoot digital cameras have just been made simpler, the company claims, due to a new Intelligent Automatic mode option.
If you are the kind of person who doesn’t know your aperture from your focus, but simply wants to point-and-shoot a decent photo without much thought, the new Panasonic Lumix cameras are worth considering.

The Intelligent Scene Selector automatically selects the appropriate scene mode (from Portrait, Scenery etc), while the Face Detection System helps the camera to focus, set auto exposure and detects up to 15 human faces, Panasonic says. Lastly, Continuous Auto Focus minimizes the auto focus time, so you don’t have to press the shutter button halfway to focus.
With a resolution of 8.1 megapixels and a 28mm Leica DC lens, the camera also offers 3.6x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD.
Also new to the Panasonic digital camera line up is the 8.1 megapixel FZ18 model. This also features the Intelligent Auto mode, but also offers manual features for the slightly more enthusiastic photographer.
