Panasonic has taken on LG and Samsung, by announcing Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa compatibility to its entire range of reverse-cycle and cooling-only air conditioning systems.
Now all Wall Split models (Z-VKR, RZ-VKR and U-TKR) and commercial air conditioning solutions with smart Wi-Fi will offer hands-free remote voice command support.
Users are required to pair their air conditioner with Panasonic’s WLAN Smart Adaptor (CZ-TACG1 or CZ-CAPWFC1[3]) and Comfort Cloud App, then link to their Google Home or Amazon Alexa device.
Voice control can be used to turn the unit on/off, adjust temperature and modes, check its operating status and more.
Customised routines can also be created via the Google Home app or Alexa Routines – e.g. “Hey Google, Good Morning!” can automatically turn on the unit to a specific temperature, and more.
“People who are used to controlling their lighting and audio with their voice, can now also set preferences for their Panasonic air conditioning system to create the desired air conditioning environment,” claims Panasonic Australia Senior Product Marketing Manager (Air Conditioning), Joe De Bella.
“We know our customers are always looking for greater freedom and connectivity, and the availability of voice control in our air conditioning range is another positive step for Panasonic’s innovative Smart Home system.”
