Panasonic who has become a major player in the digital camera market at the expense of brands like Sony and Olympus has scheduled a press conference to launch several new Lumix camera’s including a new DMC-LX5K which packs 10.1 megapixel and a new Leica lens.The new Lumix offering will have a F2.0 Leica DC Summicron Lens, a 1/1.63-inch High Sensitivity 10 megapixel CCD with evolved sensor technology. Also included will be the ability to record HD movies
Th new camera records 720p in AVCHD Lite (lower bitrate H.264) and captures internally at 60 frames per second, although it still outputs at 30 frames. The camera still shoots at 10.1 megapixels, but there should be options of electronic and optical viewfinders. The new lense will incorporate 3.8x optical zoom and an ISO level that goes up to 12800.
