After the failure of its 3DO gaming console 15 years ago, Panasonic is once again trying its luck with the launch of a new portable handheld system that focuses on online gaming.

Called Jungle, the company claims that it this new mobile device concept is “designed specifically for online gamers. We’re also working with leading online game developers to create some exciting new content.”
The Jungle will include a browser-based MMO called Battlestar Galactica Online that “delves into the mysteries of the Battlestar universe as a human or cylon. You will be able to experience space combat, exploration and mission-based gameplay.”
Full product specifications are still not revealed, although the company said that it “features a kick ass display, touch pad, keyboard, and other gaming controls that we’ll be saying more about soon.”
However, various online websites have reported that the Jungle will feature a full QWERTY keyboard, dual direction pads, shoulder buttons, touchpad, 3.5mm jack, mini-HDMI, as well as a USB port. It also sports a clamshell design.
