Panasonic Australia has today unveiled its 2018 range of “pro-sumer” OLED TVs, developed in collaboration with several Hollywood post-production studios for picture quality just “as filmmakers intended”.
Following a twenty year Hollywood partnership with post-production studios such as Deluxe, Panasonic affirms its new OLED TVs are very close to professional grade monitors used by film professionals.
Panasonic’s new OLED TVs – the FZ1000 and FZ950 – feature its latest generation “Hollywood Cinema Experience (HCX) 4K processor”, newest OLED panels, and its “most powerful” 4K Pro HDR technology yet.
The Japanese company asserts its HCX processor powers a completely new ‘Dynamic LUT (Look Up Table) system’, used by professional filmmakers for colour accuracy.
The new FZ1000 and FZ950 OLED TVs will land in Australia in July 2018, and range from A$3849 – A$7149 (as below). Both models are available in 65-inch and 55-inch versions.
“It’s exciting that Australian consumers can watch a Hollywood blockbuster at home knowing that not only does the technical accuracy of their OLED screen match the director’s creative intent, but it’s also the same screen used when perfecting the movie”, adds Campbell.
“Our customers can be certain that the movie they see in the loungeroom is precisely as it is meant to be experienced”.
The new FZ1000 and FZ950 feature an ‘Absolute Black Filter’, for bright display even in highly lit rooms. Both TVs are THX and Ultra HD Premium certified, and debut a “new industry standard” of 2.5% luminance.
Auto HDR Brightness and Dynamic Scene Optimiser further enhance picture quality.
The flagship FZ1000 also incorporates an upgraded ‘Dynamic Blade Speaker’, crafted in collaboration with Technics engineers to produce the “best in class” integrated TV speaker. Panasonic claims the TV speaker boasts a 40% volume increase. The speaker can be wall mounted under the TV, or rested on top a cabinet.
Panasonic 2018 4K UHD LED LCD TVs
In addition to its new OLED TVs, Panasonic has further expanded its range of 4K UHD LED LCD TVs – comprised of its new; FX800, FX780, FX700 and FX600. Models are available in 55-inch and 65-inch versions (pricing and local availability below).
The premium FX800 features the same HCX processor as its 2018 OLED TVs, thereby representing the “pinnacle” of 4K HDR in an LED screen with a “newly developed” ‘Super Bright panel’. The FX800 endeavours to marry style and substance, with its ‘Art & Interior’ ultra-thin panel, and glass bezel frame.
Panasonic has also further enhanced its Full HD Core TV range, with the 2018 FS500 Series launching March/May 2018 for A$449 – A$1099) (as below).
To further enhance its 2018 smart TV range, Panasonic has announced all new models will feature its upgraded My Home Screen 3.0 operating system.
Voice control support with Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa will debut later this year.
