Panasonic’s new range of camcorders aim to deliver high quality video and easy-to-use professional features in an affordable package.
Three new 4K camcorders and three new Full HD camcorders make up the new range.
“Panasonic offers a versatile camcorder range – from the latest 4K features to models with powerful 50x optical zoom and simultaneous recording capabilities,” said Doug Campbell, Senior Product Manger, Imaging, Panasonic.
5-axis hybrid optical image stabilisation (OIS) is included across all the camcorders, with Auto OIS Lock allowing video to remain steady even when zoomed in.
The HC-WXF995M, HC-VXF995 and HC-VX985M 4K camcorder models feature a LEICA DICOMAR lens with 20x optical zoom and a back-illuminated sensor for high quality 4K video. Panasonic have also developed a 4K Cropping feature that allows zoomed and stabilised Full HD videos to be created from within a 4K video.
The HC-WXF995M and HC-VXF995 feature a tiltable viewfinder for added flexibility, and the WXF995M also features built-in memory and a sub-camera dubbed Twin Cam for a secondary video perspective. Wireless Multi Cam functions similarly across Panasonic’s camcorder range, allowing for picture-in-picture recording from smartphone cameras connected via Wi-Fi.
Panasonic’s top-end Full HD camcorder, the HC-V785, features a large 1/2.3-inch sensory for “bright, crisp images in a range of lighting situations” according to Panasonic. The camcorder features a 20x optical zoom as well as slow motion video capabilities.
Zoom is the focus of Panasonic’s other Full HD camcorders. Both the HC-W585M and the HC-V385 feature a 50x optical zoom, along with 90x ‘intelligent’ zoom. The HC-W585M adds built-in memory along with a Twin Cam sub-camera.
“There is an affordable camcorder just for you – whether you are a student looking to make a short film; recording that amazing overseas journey; or simply wanting to make your family memories look their very best,” Mr Campbell said.
Panasonic’s HC-V785 ($749), HC-W585M ($599) and HC-V385 ($449) Full HD camcorders, along with the HC-VX985M ($999) 4K camcorder will be available from March. The HC-WXF995M ($1,399) and HC-VXF995 ($1,299) will be available from April. More information can be found on the Panasonic website.
