GPS function on a Lumix FT3 |
The DMC-TZ20 and the DMC-FT3 models have received the version 1.1 firmware upgrade for enhanced landmark acquisition accuracy on the GPS function.
The Lumix GPS landmark feature shows the country, state, city and one of around a million programmed landmarks on the camera when taking photos based on GPS data, tailored to the travelling photographer.
The firmware upgrade improves geo-tagging with “faster searches of over one million landmarks on the GPS function. Photos and movies with location names are automatically sorted alphabetically in the camera so they can be accessed quickly,” said Lumix marketing manager, Alistair Robins.
The DMC-FT3 was recently awarded ‘Best Rugged Compact Camera’ by the Technical Image Press Association. One of the reasons for the award cited was the integrated GPS functionality.
