AS PC sales flounder, Lenovo is giving away a free tablet with ThinkPads, notebooks, desktopsNew entrant to the consumer tablet market, Lenovo, is giving away free IdeaPad 7 inch tablets to aid reseller sales, and push its new tablets.
Figures out this month show Lenovo grew marketshare in every PC market except Asia Pacific, as the global PC market slipped 10 percent last year.
To counter this, the worlds biggest PC maker giant is giving away a free Android 7″ tablet, worth $149 (IdeaTab A1000L) with its ThinkPad Notebooks including the New X1 Carbon, pictured, (RRP $1749)and All-in-One Desktops, to Small to Medium Business (SMB) customers.

Launched today, the “Score A Bonus Tablet” promotion is designed to help channel partners leverage Lenovo’s ThinkPad PC brand and tablets.
The offer is available to SMB customers who purchase a PC listed via Lenovo resellers in Australia and New Zealand.
Lenovo Australia would not confirm if demand for ThinkPads has slumped locally, when contacted by CN.
Tablet redemption is limited to one per customer.
“We want to kick off the new year with a promotion that shows our channel partners that we are keen to support them as we enter a PC Plus era,” said Kevin Yap, 4P SMB Marketing Manager, Lenovo Australia.
“Many customers want to compute across PCs, tablets, and smartphones. To meet this demand, we want to give customers more computing form factor choice.”
Lenovo tablets including Yoga, IdeaTabs A1000L, S6000 and Miix2 are selling at JB Hi-Fi since late last year, its first foray into the consumer tablet market in Oz.
“Lenovo is helping resellers leverage these new computing trends by bundling our PCs, where we have good market awareness and acceptance, in with a tablet in order to grow sales in 2014,” Yap added.
