Pioneer has announced a new range of CD receivers featuring Bluetooth which enables users to make calls via their car audio system.In addition to Bluetooth mobile phones, the Pioneer players also allow wireless connection of Bluetooth music players.
The DEH-P7850BT and DEH-P9850BT allow the driver to stow their phone in the glovebox and then make and accept phone calls via Bluetooth, as well as talk and hang-up without touching the phone at all. Both CD players come with a microphone for talking while listening through the in-car speakers.
“Combining in-car entertainment with in-car communication, the Pioneer DEH-P7850BT and DEH-P9850BT CD players are a major step forward in helping Pioneer realise its vision of offering consumers a complete in-car solution,” said Paul Baddeley, product manager for the car electronics group at Pioneer Electronics Australia.
The two CD tuners feature an integrated Phonebook memory, capable of up to five profiles, with 500 contacts and five phone numbers per contact. This means families and business users who share cars can still access their individual personal information.
Voice commands to search contacts and make a call are also supported through the DEH-P9850BT and DEH-P7850BT microphone, providing the feature is available on the mobile phone.
The DEH-P9850BT ($999) and DEH-P7850BT ($799) receivers will be available in June 2006.
