With a starting recommended retail price of $499, the new Pioneer AV receiver line-up includes the VSX-520, VSX-820, VSX-920 and VSX-1020.
Pioneer Electronics Australia’s Group Product Planning Manager, Tony Trent said, “Content is the key, whether it’s in relation to flat panel TVs (3D), the rise in digital music purchases for products like iPhones and Smartphones, or the demand for networking in the home.”
“Pioneer has succeeded in releasing an AV receiver range that perfectly complements these emerging audio trends, capable of connecting, networking and controlling a variety of audio content in the home,” added Trent.
With the optional AS-BT100 Bluetooth adaptor, all new receivers feature wireless Bluetooth audio streaming from any Bluetooth-enabled iPhone, iPod touch, Android platform, other smart phone or PC.
From the VSX-820 model and upwards, Pioneer has introduced ‘Made for iPod’ and ‘Works with iPhone’ certified technology. An included USB/video cable enables you to listen to music, view photos, and watch downloaded video, as well as stream audio and video all while charging your device when connected to the receiver.
Stepping up from the VSX-820 to the VSX-920 and VSX-1020, Pioneer introduces a host of connectivity, control and networking features, some of which have never been seen before in an AV receiver.
iControlAV app: Pioneer’s iControlAV application provides iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad users convenient integration of their devices with their home cinema system. The free app turns an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad into a fully functioning remote control for the VSX-920 and VSX-1020 receivers. When the receivers are connected to an existing wireless router via Ethernet, the app allows wireless control of the receivers and includes graphical representations of various controllable elements. The iControlAV app can also be used for its upcoming Blu-ray Disc players.
In addition, when the VSX-920 or VSX-1020 is connected to a home network with internet access, users can enjoy thousands of internet radio stations worldwide, ranging from music and news to sports.
The VSX-920 and VSX-1020 also offers full-colour artwork from a selected song or whilst searching the users entire music library, all of which can be displayed on a connected flat-screen TV.
Other features found on the VSX-920 and VSX-1020 include 1080p upscaling, multi-zone audio, and front HDMI input.
