Pioneer brought their best work to CES 2017, with the headliner of the company’s showcase turning out to be its new Atmos-ready soundbar, the Elite FS-EB70.
Designed for cinematic surround sound experience, the Elite faces the ceiling and reflects sound down onto audiences. It’s a feature further enhanced by Dolby Audio’s new Surround Enhancer technology, which lets the soundbar create virtual rear speakers to allow for sound coming from behind you without the need for actual rear surround speakers.
The other big selling point here is the enormous level of compatibility offered. When it comes to the Elite FS-EB70, FireConnect, DTS Play-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Spotify, Pandora, Tidal, Deezer, TuneIn and AirPlay are all supported, with Chromecast functionality set to arrive later via a firmware update.
Last but not least, Hi-Res audio is supported by the Elite alongside 4K and HDR pass-through.
It’ll come to overseas markets at a price of around $1000.
