Pioneer Electronics is set to launch their first docking systems for iPods and iPhones, designed to be a little different, the new range which can also be connected to a TV. They will be available in Australia shortly.
Consisting of four models the Pioneer XW-NAS3/-K, is part of the Audition series; the XW-NAC1-K and the XW-NAC3-K system, is part of the Duo series; and then there is the Pioneer HTD system, model XW-NAV1K-K.

The XW-NAS3/-K features a “double isolated frame” that improves overall bass response while reducing cabinet resonance.
The entire audio frequency spectrum is reproduced by the system’s 2.1-channel dynamic digital amplifier, Pioneer said, and the dock can be connected to a television monitor or display. A set of component and composite video outputs are built-in for streaming video content stored on the iPod or iPhone.
Chris Walker, director of home entertainment business solutions group at Pioneer Electronics, said, “For our first entry into the dock category, we took a different approach and created each one with build and sound quality as a priority. The entire line was personally sound tuned or evaluated by our renowned TAD speaker engineer, Andrew Jones, who also created our exclusive, high-end EX line of home speakers.”
The Duo series models — XW-NAC1-K and XW-NAC3-K — come with built-in Bluetooth to wirelessly stream audio from an iPhone 3G or 3G S, iPod Touch (second generation or later), computer or another Bluetooth-compatible device. Features include dual docking ports on top of the systems for two different iPods, so users can choose from two music collections and charge two devices at the same time, the company said.
They also have a Double Shuffle feature, the ability to preview music, DLNA 1.5 to play back music from a computer, a vTuner feature that allow Internet radio playback, and mini jack and USB connections.
The “all-in-one solution” XW-NAV1K-K has an a Works with iPhone-certified dock, DVD/CD player, FM tuner, USB connectivity and CD-to-MP3 ripping capability.
