Too good to be true? A quad core smartphone + smart watch for $200Polaroid are about to make a mobile assault on Australia.
The camera giant’s new 5″ Topaz smartphone – its first phone to go on sale here from July, is being bundled with a touchscreen Pwatch smart watch. It costs just $199 for the two, just one fifth of the price your would pay for the likes of Samsung, Sony or LG watch and phone combi.
The dual core/quad core (1,2 GHz – Cortex A7) Polaroid Topaz smartphone has a 5″ QHD – IPS (540 x 980) pixels, runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and has dual cameras.
It also has dual SIMs, runs 3G+, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4 GB RAM 512 MB memory.
Topaz (PRO450B) comes in Black, Silver or Gold. However, the battery doesn’t appear to be very long lasting.
And, as for the watch, Topaz Pwatch, this rubber bracelet with aluminium housing sports a 1,54″ (240 x 240) touchcreen, runs Android and has FM Radio, Podometer, Bluetooth – so good for exercise.
And its also rain and splash proof, built-in speakers, and is ‘thief-proof’, apparently.
Connectivity wise, Pwatch has Bluetooth 3.0, Micro USB port, and you can view your incoming SMS Email/ Facebook/ Twitter messages and incoming calls from the Topaz phone.
Pwatch also comes in matching colours to the smartphone – Black, Silver and Gold.
Pwatch’s has 256 MB memory and its directory saves 1000 entries,
However, Lithium Battery 300 MAH battery lasts just 4 hours before it need to be rejuiced.
Both Polaroids will be released here in July, alongside new line of tablets which start at a jaw dropping $79 for dual core model.
