Garmin has introduced its premium Fenix Chronos multisport watch, which is set to land in the Australian market in September.Garmin states that the Chronos is its first watch “to combine a durable and fashionable metal housing with the latest adventure, fitness training, activity tracking and smartwatch technology”, with three versions to be available.
The three versions will comprise a titanium with brushed titanium band model, a steel with brushed stainless steel band model and a steel with vintage leather band model.
Garmin states the Chronos can “seamlessly transition from a day on the trail or intense training session to a dressy event”.
“The premium titanium version features a unique brushed titanium band with individually brushed forged titanium links and black elastomer inner links, making it strong yet extremely lightweight and comfortable on the wrist,” Garmin states.

“The steel version has solid 316L stainless steel links, carefully assembled and hand-brushed to ensure a smooth, consistent texture.
“The steel version is also available with a vintage-style leather band, crafted with genuine leather. The stylish leather band has hand-sewn contrast stitching and a nubuck inner lining that combines classic good looks with lasting durability and comfort.”
The watches also come with an interchangeable silicone sport band.
All versions are decked out with a high-strength and scratch-resistant sapphire lens, a 1.2″ Chroma Display with LED backlighting “for great visibility in all conditions”, and have a 10ATM (100 m) water rating.
They are Connect IQ-compatible, with users able to download apps, widgets, watch faces and data fields via the Connect IQ store in the Garmin Connect mobile app, with users also able to pair their Chronos with a compatible phone to receive incoming call, text, email and other alerts, while the Chronos also supports automatic uploads to Garmin Connect.

features ABC sensors (altimeter, barometer, compass), while activity profiles include run, bike, lap swim, open water, SUP, row and golf.
It is equipped with daily activity tracking technology, allowing users to monitor the number of steps taken, calories burned, stairs climbed and quality of rest at night with the sleep mode, and comes with Garmin Elevate wrist heart rate technology.
The Chronos delivers up to 25 hours of battery life in UltraTrac battery saver mode, and can get up to 13 hours in GPS mode and one week in smartwatch mode (depending on settings).
The Chronos titanium will be priced at $1,999 RRP, the Chronos steel $1,499 RRP and the Chronos steel with leather band $1,399 RRP.
