The MOG service acquired by Beats last year will form Daisy’s foundations and although it will resemble rivals Spotify and Pandora, Beats claims a key differentiator will be how Daisy better connects artists with their fans.
Apart from intuitively learning user’s musical tastes and making intelligent recommendations, it’s not known how Daisy will bridge the gap between fans and their favourite artists.
We imagine Nine Inch Nails fans will feel very connected as the band’s frontman, Trent Reznor (inset), will be serving as the Daisy’s Chief Creative Officer. Reznor will work alongside Daisy CEO Ian Rogers of music-marketing firm Topspin.
Following its debut, Daisy will be compatible with smartphones powered by iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8, in addition to desktop computers. According to TechRadar, Daisy will eventually role out globally once the company irons out its technical and licensing issues.
