New to the Australian market, the latest version of Pure’s Evoke DAB digital and FM radio series, the Evoke D4, comes in both a standard and a Bluetooth model, featuring “smart, streamlined looks, improved audio and a suite of new features”.The standard D4 comes in a real walnut or oak veneer casing, while the D4 with Bluetooth is available in a real wood “domino” black or “glacier” white matt finish.
The Bluetooth feature turns the D4 into a wireless speaker, allowing users to stream from tablets, smartphones and other compatible devices.
When it comes to sound quality, Pure states both models have been “hand-tuned to deliver class-leading audio and include the latest digital amplification technology”, while the wood casing provides “a depth and solidity that combines perfectly with its tuned speaker and digital amplifier”.
DAB digital radio provides “high-detail, digital-quality sound”, along with scrolling text displaying track titles and program information, while FM provides for any stations that have yet to go digital.
Both new models include a remote control and a touch-sensitive “Snoozehandle”, designed for ease of use.
Other features include an iPod/MP3 player input, an optional rechargeable battery pack, delivering 50 hours of portable listening, 30 presets with four quick access buttons, kitchen and sleep timers, a tone or radio alarm and a stereo headphone socket.
The standard D4 carries a price tag of $249 RRP, and the D4 with Bluetooth $299 RRP, while the rechargeable F1 battery pack carries a price tag of $79 RRP.
