Its Over, BlackBerry.

Aussie carrier Qantas has ditched BlackBerry for iPhone.
The move could save the troubled national airline “millions” reports The Australian, as the company could bin more than 1300 BlackBerry devices for Apple iPhones.
The reason?
Qantas heads ‘preferred’ the iPhone more than the once beloved BlackBerry following a survey of staff but cost saving and ease of use was also a factor.
Corporates love BlackBerry, the original business smartphone, for its emails, its own server and mobile security, but still has several major corporate clients in Oz.
“There has been strong demand from Qantas employees for the iPhone, with a large majority of respondents to a recent survey indicating that this is their preferred smartphone option,” Qantas chief information officer Paul Jones said.
“Transition from the Blackberry to the iPhone is part of Qantas’s broader mobility strategy and once complete will result in significant cost savings.”
But Qantas aren’t ignoring the other big mobile player Android either, confirming it is setting up a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) scheme, considering over half of smarties in Oz are now powered by Google’s OS.
This is not the first tie in Qantas has had with Apple, of late.
Just on Friday last, the airline announced it would be decking out the cockpits of its entire fleet with iPads for use by pilots. And no, not for playing Angry Birds, but serious pilot stuff.
